As more and more people are turning to barbershops for fades and shaves, the demand for barbers has gone up. As a barber, you can develop business skills, show off your technical abilities, and give your clients fresh new cuts. If you’ve been thinking about joining the barber industry, now is the time to do it.
At Xenon Academy, we’ve built our reputation and we want to help you build yours. Our goal is to give you a significant learning experience that teaches the old and new styles of barbering. Our barber school was designed to prepare you to not only sit for the state board exam but to give you the confidence you need to be successful in your future career.
*Our Barber Program Is Currently Only Offered At Our Omaha Campus.
Barbering has a long history, but currently, the barbershop industry is booming. In our barbering program, you can explore your entrepreneurial side while learning key fundamentals in barbering techniques. We’ve designed this program to provide a balance of education and experience.
During our program, you can learn a variety of different techniques that can help you develop the skills you’ll need. You can learn men’s facial treatments, the art of facial grooming, fades and shaves, and more. Once you’ve hit a certain point in your education, you’ll be able to practice what you’ve learned in our student barbershop, under the supervision of our licensed instructors.
Barbering is a hands-on profession, so it only makes sense that you learn in a hands-on environment. To help ensure that our students feel prepared after they graduate, they will get to practice their skills on real clients who come in for services. While on the shop floor, you’ll receive guidance and meaningful feedback from our instructors.
To ensure that you’re progressing through your program, you’ll be tested regularly on your knowledge of information throughout previous weeks. This will help prove your abilities and readiness to progress to the next phase of the program, and ultimately, to graduation and licensure.
Barbering is not just haircuts and shaves, it also includes business skills. Whether you’re looking to become an independent contractor or a barbershop employee, business principles are essential when becoming a barber. During our program, you can learn bookkeeping, business laws, insurance, and marketing. Our business curriculum also has a strong focus on the proper ethics of the beauty industry, as well as professional communication and self-presentation skills that potential employers will expect of you.
If you’re ready to explore your entrepreneurial spirit, then consider Xenon Academy’s barbering program. We’re here to support you during and after your education to help you achieve your goals.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you will get practical experience in our student shop. Here you provide REAL services on REAL clients dialing into the precision that is needed to become a successful barber. Additionally, Xenon Academy offers experiences such as interactions with industry leaders, guest artists, and shop tours.
Xenon Academy utilizes the Pivot Point® Fundamentals Learn About Barbering (LAB) curriculum. This gives you 24/7 online access to learning materials, technique videos, and quizzes. All to support you during your educational experience. This learning curriculum provides a smooth, blended learning experience focused on preparing students to sit for their licensure exams and jumpstart their careers.
It has honestly been Great being a part of Xenon Academy. I transferred from another cosmetology school half way through my program because I found that Xenon was more about teaching ethics and professionalism not just as a school but as a business. I have learned so much more than I ever imagined being here from all of the educators and having multiple programs to consider. I want to thank all the educators for teaching and coaching me with all of their professional knowledge in this industry. I will be very successful now that I am a Xenon Graduate. I highly recommend Xenon Academy in Grand Island Nebraska and Omaha.
