Healthy hair and a healthy scalp are essential. This course teaches how to recognize hair/scalp disorders, corrective treatments, shampooing/massage skills, product knowledge, and proper application techniques. This course is taught through discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.

A new color can make a huge difference in someone’s life. This course teaches proper hair color application techniques, the chemistry of products and chemical reactions, corrective hair color, and fashion trend techniques.

Welcome to the art of hair! This course focuses on hair sculpture for all clients, including solid form, graduated form, increased layers, and uniform layers. By mastering these concepts, you can recreate any hair sculpture, or come up with your own artistic vision.

Why are curtain bangs so trendy again? This class will answer just that! Our hair design course introduces you to the history of hair styling and how it relates to modern techniques/trends. It also teaches quick services like thermal styling, roller placement, and press/curl services.

Whether a client wants their hair permed or chemically relaxed, a good stylist needs to understand how to safely work with these chemicals. This course teaches the artistic and scientific principles of hair chemistry.

Learn how to provide your future clients the ultimate self-care experience! This course covers facial shapes and bone structure, makeup application, body treatments, specialty facial procedures, and hair removal techniques.

Get ready for all things nail-related. In this course, you can learn nail care techniques, hand and arm massages, corrective/maintenance options, and how to apply and care for nail extensions. We also provide extracurricular nail enhancement classes if you want to expand your skill set.

Safety always comes first at our school. Learn the basic understanding of the laws, rules, and regulations set forth by the state of Nebraska. This includes infection control practices and safety measures.

New and improved products are constantly being developed by cosmetic chemists to benefit both consumers and beauty professionals. This course focuses on the structure and functions of the human body and why that is so crucial to cosmetic applications.

Once you’re done with school, you need to find a job. Our career prep classes teach how to prepare a resume, prepare for an interview, and create an Instagram presence that can help you build your business. It also includes salon recruiting events, mock interviews, salon owner guest speakers, and social media marketing lessons.

You’ve probably chosen to become a stylist because you’re a people person. Careers in beauty are highly social. You need to know how to talk to your clients, but more importantly, you need to know how to listen. This course handles all aspects of client relations, including chair side manner, managing your clientele, proper pre-booking, and the sale of products.

For a hairstylist, honesty and transparency is always the best policy. This course focuses on the proper ethics of the beauty industry, as well as professional communication and self-presentation skills that potential employers will expect of you.

Whether you want to be an independent contractor or a salon employee, business principles are an essential part of being a stylist. This course provides knowledge of bookkeeping, business laws, insurance, and marketing as an independent contractor, salon suite renter, or potential salon owner.

To ensure that you’re progressing through the program, you’ll be tested regularly on your knowledge of information throughout previous weeks. This will help prove your abilities and readiness to progress to the next phase of the program, and ultimately, to graduation and licensure.

After completing a minimum of 200 hours, you’ll be able to perform real salon services on guests while under the direct supervision of licensed instructors. The salon floor classroom is a “live” learning environment where our educators will work with you to master both basic skills and advanced techniques. You must complete all required practice skills to earn your hours for a diploma.
